DPRIVATE RESIDENCE - It has been a theory that renovations stir up the dead. SPIRITS are
used to having " their home . . . their way ". They do not like change.
Sometimes even painting a room a different color can stir up some
problems. Tools go missing and then show up days later in the same
spot. Lights start to flicker on and off, and electrical appliances
won't work. Cold spots appear in the house. In severe cases, even
poltergeist activity is witnessed and reported If you have lived
in a century house and tried to do home improvements, you can
understand or have experienced similar events.
Boswell Street in Belleville ,On. holds many houses that have repeated
STRANGE HAPPENINGS . John has lived in 2 houses on this street. They
both have a story, a troubled past, and . . . a lonely spirit.
The following is an entry from John's journal. The address and peoples
names have been kept private upon request. They still reside in the
house today, and since the improvements have stopped so has the
spirit .
May 02/02 - John's journal.
Finally moved into new house on Boswell St. . It has a cool attic loft.
When I was poking around I found an old box of pictures. It was left
on a beam. They are really old. They look like there from the 1940's or
50's. Some were taken in the backyard and driveway of this house. One
picture strikes me as odd. There is an orb in it.
Well tired and time for bed.
May 03/02 - Was up all night. Noises all around my room. Scratching in
the walls, footsteps in the attic, and my closet door keeps opening. I
asked my roommates if they heard anything last night, they said no
way . . . out cold. Strange. Started to tear apart the bathroom today.
Found newspapers from 1945 in the walls.I wonder what other treasures
we are going to find. Tried to call dogs into my room again but they
won't even cross the threshold. I suggested that this house might be
haunted. My roommates laughed and told me to relax. I told them that I
have no problem living with a spirit and I welcome it. I asked them
why do you think that your hammer, tape measure and level have
disappeared. They think I'm trying to scare them. I don't need to.
May 13/02 - A lot has happened since last entry. During my meditation
last night, I felt a cold breeze swirling around the room. I didn't have
any windows open. I know for sure that something is here. My buddy
was here tonight. We were planning our Bakelite trip tonight. He went
to my room to change for the trip. He came flying down the stairs
white as a sheet. He told me that my closet door opened and shut by
itself. Awesome . . . I didn't even tell him about my thinking this place
is haunted. Also the tools that went missing showed up today.
May 27/02 - My gift of 6th sense is starting to get extremely powerful
with my meditation exercises. I can see auras clearer and have a keen
future insight. Last night the spirit was restless. My roommates keep
saying it's mice but mice don't knock on the walls. Mice don't make the
sounds of pacing footsteps.
June 7/02 - Finished putting the floor down in bathroom yesterday,
but that's not the big news. Last night during my meditation I found
that I am clairaudient. I can feel , smell, and now hear spirit around
me. I made contact with the spirit in this house. I was focused in a
deep meditative state and I heard a female whisper in my ear. It
sounded happy and said " ARE YOU THERE ?? " . The hair on my arms
stood up as I felt a cold brush on my cheek. I took a deep breath and
opened my eyes . . . . Nothing there ! !
June 11/02 - Animals are starting to bark at thin air. Animals have
better sight and hearing. They are the first to sense bad weather,
other animals and spirits. Reasons for this are due to night vision,
super sensitive smell, and hearing, and receptors in paw pads and
whiskers. The Lab will grow a mohawk down her back and start to
growl. Won't even go upstairs now. Roommates starting to get nervous.
They are starting to hear and see things too. They are blaming me for
practicing Wicca or WITCHCRAFT in the house. Oh well , I'm moving in
two weeks.
June 28/02 - Last night I said my goodbye to the spirit of this house.
I asked her to move on and be happy. I told her that she can't stay
her anymore. I told her to go to the white light and go through. This
may sound weird but last night has been the most peaceful nights
sleep that I've had since moving here. Moving tomorrow. Hope that
everything remains calm.
After leaving the house John did some research. He found out that
previous tenants have had similar experiences. One couple said
their children used to talk to an invisible friend. Most feel that the
spirit is that of a nanny. She took care of the house and seems to
still attend to her duties. She is a very peaceful soul and means
no harm.
