DTHE GLANMORE MUSEUM - In Belleville, On, stands a house that was built in 1883 and is
a beautiful example of Victorian architecture. Today, it is a
national historical site and a museum. It was the former home
of the Phillips-Burrows-Faulkner families. The museum today
has many of it's original furnishings, lighting fixtures, and
an incredible art collection which has paintings by artist
Phillipa Faulkner, who was also born in the house. From the
sidewalk on Bridge St. , the house is spooky enough in the
daylight, but as the shadows of the approaching night casts
there gloomy facades the house transforms into something
out of a horror movie. Why you ask? Along with the Secret
passages there is something lurking in the shadows!

Phillipa Faulkner donated the home to the city in 1971. She
was heard to say, " this house is very peculiar " and during
the redecorating process many workers came to find out what
she had meant. They would report seeing shadows, power loss,
and tools would go missing and turn up days later. Many of
them reported that they felt like they were being watched
                             and sudden drops in temperature.

Mrs. Faulkner attributed the disturbances to the spirit of
her grandmother Harriet Phillips. Hattie was the original care
taker of Glanmore and would always carry the ring of keys
around her waist. She was also an accomplished artist and
four of her paintings can been seen today. Mrs. Faulkner said
that she felt safe knowing that Hattie was guarding both her
                             and the house.

There are 3 other spirits that roam Glanmore. One is the
spirit of a soldier in full military dress. The other two are
a little boy and girl. The boy is said to be Percy, the son of
Hattie. Percy died very young and is buried at St. Thomas
Church in Belleville. The girl is not known by name.

Mrs. Faulkner has seen the soldier and also told of other
happenings within the house. She told of doors that would
open and close, the piano on the main floor would play by
itself. Others report of hearing childrens footsteps and
giggling. Percy is said to be seen in a blue outfit just like
his painting in the house. The spirits became a lot more active
and finally in 1965 a Catholic Priest was summoned to perform
an exorcism and blessing of the house. After he left things
quieted down but some happy spirits still remain to this day.

John  conducted his investigation in May 2002. He caught
some orbs and measured 4 different cold spots. The one thing
that really got his attention was a trigger object he set up
had moved 2 inches from it's original spot in a locked off
room. after I developed the film I shot I noticed a silhouette
in one of the attic windows of a little boy. Could this be
                             Percy?

An interesting sidenote to all of this during my research I
Interviewed a former employee of Glanmore. the story that
follows is an portion of the interview... no names are used.

                                Interview #14-Glanmore- April 16 2002, 10:00 P.M.

                             "
We had been decorating the museum for the annual Victorian
Christmas display. I was with two volunteers and it was a couple
of minutes before 11 o'clock P.M. We had decide to call it a night
and went about doing the closing procedures. The volunteer said
bye to us and left. After checking the museum we went to the
office to get our things. I turned off the light and shut the door.
As we headed down the stairs to the door, we heard the creak of
a door. As I spun around , light was coming from the second floor.
We proceeded up the stairs. As we rounded the turn at the top,
the office door was opened about a foot and the light was on. I
looked at the volunteer and reached for the door. I pushed it
open . . .  but there was nothing there. Frightened we looked at
each other dreading what was coming next. room by room, floor by
floor we checked the whole museum but there was nobody but us
there. I then heard the words," the stories are true" escape from
my volunteers lips. I felt sick as I said," well, nobodys here, let's
go! " As we headed for the alarm we heard footsteps and a door
open again. We screamed as we turned around and saw the light
coming from the second floor. We grabbed each others hand and
slowly started up the stairs. Once again the office door was open
a foot. I pushed the door open . . ." At this point my interview
had to be stopped because the client was so emotional. I told her
that we could stop if she wanted to. after about 15 minutes we
continued. " I pushed the door opened and froze. I heard a scream
from behind me. A blanket had been covering little legs to a body
that wasn't there. On It's lap was a book and the pages were being
flipped slowly one at a time. I felt a grab on my arm and I
screamed. The Volunteer looked at me and pointed at It. As I
Looked again . . .  We heard a childs laugh. I nearly broke my hand
on the light switch as I slammed it off, while closing the door. We
bolted down the stairs. I set the alarm, locked the door, checked
it and ran to my car. I didn't look back as I sped out of the lot."
The client I interviewed left the room her husband went on to
add that both her and the volunteer resigned the next day. She
still has nightmares to this day and won't even drive by the
                                   Glanmore house.
